Anna Ahlfors

Anna Ahlfors is a wife, proud homeschool mom, and full-time golf cheerleader for her two high school boys. When she’s not traveling to tournaments or helping with algebra, she’s writing heartfelt, witty romances that celebrate love, family, and second chances.

A husband’s girl through and through, Anna fills her stories with humor, emotion, and the kind of chaos only real life can inspire. Her dogs—whose names make cameo appearances in her books—keep her company while she writes late into the night.

She’s the author of On the Clock, Accidental Arrangement, and Ella. When she’s not writing, you’ll find her reading, painting, or somewhere near the 18th hole.

  • People have asked me why I write romance without the spice. And the answer is actually pretty simple:

    I love a good swoon.

Like…the kind of romance that hits you in the chest, makes you grin like an idiot, and keeps you flipping pages because the emotions are all consuming. The longing, the tension, the banter, the almost-kisses that feel like they set the kindle on fire? That’s my favorite kind of love story.

And honestly? My biggest reason sits at my kitchen island every night.

My 16-year-old reads every single chapter I write. Start to finish. He gives me notes, he tells me what works, he tells me when a character’s name sounds “off”, and I treasure every second of it. This season of life — where my husband and my boys want to hear what I wrote that day — it’s special. It’s rare. And I’m not about to miss it by telling them, “Uh…ear muffs for this next part.”

I wanted to write stories I could share with my family. Stories full of heart and humor and slow-burn tension that still makes grown women giggle. Stories that focus on connection, not steam. Stories that make you feel something…without making you hide the book when your kid walks by.

    So that’s why.

I write swoony, emotional, no-spice romance — because I get to write the kind of love that starts conversations at my dinner table, makes my boys laugh, and lets my husband look at me like he’s pretty sure he just married a storyteller.

And I wouldn’t change that for anything.

  • For months, I thought the cover for On the Clock was finished.

    Pretty. Clean. Safe.

But something in me kept whispering, “It’s not quite you.”

I ignored it… until I finalized the cover for Accidental Arrangement.

The second that Book 2 cover came together — warm, emotional, romantic, wrapped in florals and feeling — it was like a light bulb went off.

    Suddenly I could see it:

On the Clock needed to match the heart of the story, not just the aesthetic.

So, like any author who spirals at 12 a.m. with Canva, Photoshop, and a little too much melatonin, I went back to the drawing board.

And the moment the On the Clock cover came together?

    It clicked.

    The floral frame.

    The vintage clock.

    The timeless, romantic vibe.

It finally felt like Emma and Sebastian’s world.

Accidental Arrangement didn’t just get its cover…

It showed me what the whole series was supposed to look like.

Now both books feel like they belong to the same series:

    •  soft florals
    • warm tones
    • intimate & emotional
    • a little bit magical
    • and very, very “me”

I can finally say I’m obsessed — with both of them.

On the Clock — available now

Accidental Arrangement — releasing May 1, 2026 (pre-order is live!)

Thank you for loving these characters with me.

Sometimes the story tells you what it wants — even in the cover design.

  • When I started writing Accidental Arrangement, I knew Lucy Moretti was going to be dramatic, stubborn, soft-hearted, and… constantly hungry.

But I didn’t quite expect her pregnancy cravings to take over my real kitchen too.

    Because here’s the thing…

If I was going to write Lucy inhaling thick & gooey chocolate chip cookies, pistachio-maple cinnamon rolls, and late-night croissant experiments with Caleb sitting on her counter as the taste judge…

I wanted the recipes to be real.

As in: tested, tasted, and sometimes…. trash worthy...

So yes… I started recreating Lucy’s cravings right here at home.

    And my family has opinions.

    So many opinions.

Some days, my kitchen smells like heaven because a recipe actually works.

Other days, we are scraping things off the pan and pretending it was “supposed to be respectably disposed.”

    But honestly?

It’s been one of my favorite parts of writing this book.

Bringing Lucy’s cravings to life has added something playful and cozy to the story—little scenes where Emma, Caleb, or even Alistair get caught up in whatever she must have right that second. The recipes became tiny character moments… and little snapshots of Lucy’s heart.

    And as for my family?

Let’s just say they’ve been my unofficial taste-testers—sometimes thrilled, sometimes terrified, always fed.

They’re enjoying the wins (these cookies!), surviving the fails, and cheering me on as every craving becomes a recipe… and every recipe becomes part of Lucy’s world.

So yes—Accidental Arrangement isn’t just full of swoony moments, mafia-level loyalty, and two men fighting for one woman’s heart.

It also includes something much more important:

    snacks.

    Lots and lots of snacks.

And I hope you love them as much as we do! XOXO

  • I had the idea for On the Clock on a golf course of all places. My son was playing in a tournament, the sun was shining, the birds were chirping—and suddenly, a character appeared in my head. I opened the Notes app on my phone and started typing. What began as a simple outline quickly turned into full-blown character development. They came to life so vividly, it felt like I’d met them before.

That evening, we were sitting on our patio, replaying the day’s tournament when I blurted out, “I think I’m going to do a thing.” My family looked at me like I grown a second head. I started explaining the story and introducing the characters. Funny enough, the antagonist, Veronica, was originally named “Samantha,” but my son Brady suggested the change—and it fit like a glove.

From there, the whole family joined in. My husband, Jeff, and Brady helped brainstorm scenes, tweak dialogue, and even pick locations. It became our nightly ritual: talk about the day, talk about golf, then I’d read what I’d written.

Here’s the truth—I’m brand new to this. Like, reeeeaaaallllyyyy new. It started as a fun hobby, then a passion project, and suddenly I thought, “Wow… this might actually be good enough to publish.”

I wrote the entire manuscript in Microsoft Word—because that’s what you do when you have no idea what you’re doing. It worked fine until it was time to actually publish. The formatting was a mess. After chatting with a few agents and a publisher, Jeff and I decided to self-publish through KDP. I say “we,” because it truly became a family project.

And let me tell you—I did everything backwards. I discovered Kindle Create and thought, “Great! This is easy!” (First red flag: if it’s easy, you’re probably doing it wrong.) It looked good until it came time for edits. Kindle Create doesn’t have spellcheck—and once your book is imported, you can’t re-upload it to Word. Cue the frustration.

So after author copies, and more edits, and more ugh, we still ended up with 21 misspelled words in the published version. Can you tell I’m new at this? I agonized over it at first… then I laughed. Because what else can you do?

Now I’m onto Book #2 — Accidental Arrangement.

After surviving the Great Kindle-Create/Microsoft-Gate of 2025, I upgraded to Atticus, which formats as you write, previews beautifully, and has spellcheck. Hallelujah.

Long story short: I’m learning as I go. I’m giving myself grace—and I hope my readers do, too. Because if you give me another chance… Accidental Arrangement is SO good.

  • What a whirlwind! On the Clock has officially been out for two days—and I still can’t believe it’s real. Seeing it out in the world, hearing from readers, and holding my very first published book has been the most surreal, emotional experience.

I gave myself one day to celebrate (okay, maybe two 😉), but now it’s right back to work—head first into Accidental Arrangement.

Lucy’s story has been living in my head for months, and I can’t wait for you to see what she gets herself into. There’s chaos, charm, and maybe a wedding invitation with a missing name…

Thank you for being here, cheering me on, and taking a chance on a brand new author. This is just the beginning. 💕

  • You know that feeling when you tell yourself you’re just going to try something small and suddenly it becomes your whole personality? Yeah, that’s me with writing.

I’m Anna — wife, homeschool mom, golf mom, and now… published author! (Still feels wild to say that.) I started writing On the Clock while on the golf course watching my two boys compete in a tournament! It quickly became something I would want to read myself, and it turned from a short story into a novel about love, timing, and finding your place in the world.

This site is my baby — for updates, stories, and probably some chaos in between. Welcome, friend. 💗
